The Organisation:
Artist Surfaces fabricates, high-quality, bespoke painting panels and stretcher bars for artists, galleries and museums. The company was set up with the principle that we wanted to offer museum grade surfaces at affordable prices. Our hope is that this can in turn permit artists the opportunity to develop their practice in a practical and sustainable way. Artist Surfaces provides surfaces that reflect the same commitment to excellence and craftsmanship that the artist exemplifies through their work, albeit at an affordable price.
We are a small, but growing, family-run company based in Northfleet, Gravesend. We employ a small team of staff to maintain our workshop, build and wrap our products and develop our offer.
The Role
The Assistant Workshop Technician will be responsible for fabricating, welding and wrapping bespoke, museum-grade painting panels. We are looking for a team-player with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of meeting goals and targets. No previous ‘making’ experience is required, our team will give you all the training and support needed in order to confidently fabricate panels to a high quality. Your working hours will be Monday-Friday shifts of either 8am-5pm or 12pm-9pm (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch/dinner break).
